Dr. Epstein specializes in all microscopic follicular unit grafting, with special expertise in the repair of prior hair transplants, eyebrow and facial hair work, hair loss in women, and large procedures (as large as 4,500-plus grafts in select patients) for over 18 years. Over the past 3 years, Dr. Epstein has also been at the forefront in performing the technique of follicular unit extraction (FUE), which allows for essentially no detectable donor site scarring. Given his extensive training in plastic surgery, he is unique in the hair transplant field, and brings his aesthetic background to his work, as well as being able to offer combined facial plastic surgery and hair restoration procedures for those patients seeking more improvement in appearance.
Regularly featured by the media for his expertise in the treatment of hair loss and the full scope of aesthetic concerns in men and women, Dr. Epstein is also considered a “doctor’s doctor”, with a large number of his patients coming from the medical field, due to, amongst other things, his large number of scientific publications. Furthermore, he receives consult referrals from many plastic surgery colleagues.

The FHR procedure and operating room suites in Miami and New York City have achieved the highest level of accreditation for a surgical facility. In addition, due to his commitment to producing the most aesthetic and technically advanced results, he works with a team of 22 full-time hair transplant technicians, averaging over 8 years working with him, who dissect all of the hair grafts using binocular microscopes. He also uses the computerized Wand for administering anesthesia to make sure the procedure is virtually pain free.

Each step of the process, from the initial consultation, to the actual procedure(s), and follow-up care, is performed personally by Dr. Epstein. His patients appreciate that he provides his patients with his cellphone number, allowing them to contact him with questions during the recovery process.
In addition to doing outstanding hair transplantation, with up to 4,500 all microscopically prepared highly refined follicular unit grafts in one session, he also frequently repairs prior transplants on patients who have had outdated or unaesthetic procedures performed. He has developed a particular expertise in this area and has authored numerous articles and presented his techniques at national and international meetings. While many of his patients are men, Dr. Epstein is also a recognized expert in the treatment of hair loss in women, having authored articles in this area. “Plastic Surgery- More boomer men try nips, tucks”
(Miami Herald Cover Story Features Dr. Epstein)
Herald Columnist Ana Veciana-Suarez turned to Dr. Epstein for a front page story on the growth in plastic surgery for men. According to Epstein, for whom 70% of his patients are men, “For the baby boomer generation, looking good and looking young has always been very important”. To explain the 25% increase in patients from the same time last year, he attributed the improvement in the economy, stating “There’s pent up demand. I think there was a lot of job insecurity at one point and people weren’t willing to spend the money.”
Specializing in surgical hair restoration and facial plastic surgery, Dr. Epstein has seen particular growth in the demand for facial rejuvenation procedures (face and necklifts, eyelid surgery, hair restoration) and rhinoplasty. Most procedures are performed in his accredited office operating rooms, where patients can be assured a private and comfortable experience.
